- Tomy Drissi celebrates new primary partnerships with Trench Shoring Co. and Motul with a fourth place finish in 2025 season opener
- Drissi now has five top-fives in the past six Sebring events
- Drissi’s active top-five streak sits at 10 races coming into Road Atlanta
Tomy Drissi and Drissi Motorsports kicked off their pursuit of the 2025 Trans Am presented by Pirelli championship with a fourth place finish in Sunday’s Sebring SpeedTour race at Sebring International Raceway. Drissi and the #8 Trench Shoring Co./Motul Chevrolet Camaro were among the fastest cars on track all weekend, and a late race charge put the team well within reach of opening the season on the TA class podium.
Sebring marked the start of a new era for the Drissi Motorsports team, with the debut of Trench Shoring Co. and Motul as the team’s new sponsors. Drissi celebrated the new partnerships with quick times immediately out of the hauler, posting the fastest lap in Friday’s morning test session and second fastest in the afternoon. In Saturday qualifying, he posted a time of 1:58.977, good enough for fourth on the grid.
If Sunday’s race was any indication, Drissi will be well prepared for any challenge this season throws at him. He settled into the top five after the green flag and ran there comfortably until the double yellow flags flew just before halfway. Unfortunately, while under caution, Drissi was given a penalty that sent him to the back of the field, separating him from the rest of the TA leaders.
Undeterred, Drissi began a methodical charge to the front of the pack as soon as the green flag flew. He carved his way around many of the GT class cars on the restart and continued to pick off cars one by one in the closing laps of the race. Sitting in fifth and back within the lead TA group coming to four laps to go, he made a decisive pass heading into Sunset and made up nearly seven seconds on third in the closing laps before settling into fourth. The result marked the fifth time in the past six Sebring events that Drissi earned a top five finish, as well as his 10th consecutive top five finish dating back to NOLA Motorsports Park last April.
“I’m very happy to be out of Sebring with another good finish to start the season,” said Drissi. “We had a lot of challenges thrown at us, but the Trench Shoring/Motul Camaro was fast all weekend long and nothing could keep us down. We’re happy to take decent points into Road Atlanta as we look towards another strong season.”
Alongside Drissi, the Drissi Motorsports team also welcomed the return of Keith Grant in the team’s #7 Chevrolet Camaro for the weekend. Grant, a podium finisher at Sebring two years ago as a TA class rookie, qualified sixth, but unfortunately saw his race cut short early. Completing the team’s Sebring efforts was Drissi’s immensely popular 1970 Chaparral Camaro, which competed in SVRA’s Historic Trans Am and remains one of the most popular cars in the SpeedTour paddock.
Next up for Drissi Motorsports is the Road Atlanta SpeedTour on March 20-23. TA class test sessions will take place on Thursday at 11:30AM and 4:30PM, followed by Friday practice at 12:05PM and qualifying at 5:35PM. Saturday’s race will kick off at 12:45PM and feature either 40 laps or 75 minutes, and can be seen live on either the Trans Am YouTube channel or Speed Sport 1. Tickets to watch the team in action are available now at SpeedTour.net, while live timing can be found at gotransam.com.
