#RallyXAmericas: Jimmy Henderson: “I Dream of Crandon at Night”

With just days remaining before the inaugural RallyX Americas season starts at Crandon International Raceway, fans at “The Big House” will get their first taste of how a rallycross event differs from the off-road truck and UTV racing they’re used to. But that doesn’t mean that they’ll be short on familiar names to root for.

Jimmy Henderson was the first driver to confirm his seat in the Hypercar class, committing to the 2026 season with Team OMSE in a First Corner FC1 back in April. Having found plenty of success at the track over the years, including last year’s Crandon Pro 4 World Championship win, it’s safe to say he’s very excited to get the season started at a familiar track.

“I dream of Crandon at night,” Henderson says. “It is just one of the best facilities I’ve ever been to, and it’s run by a great family. I’m friends with the fans and the Flannerys, and I love the facility. I love the racetrack, the flow of it, the banking in the turns. If I had to call a home track, that’s what I’d call mine—my first win was at Crandon, so it means a lot to me.

“I just think that the fans are going to love it. And being in the seat for a new class coming to Crandon, where I have so many fans, I’m just excited to put on a show for them and trying to win that first one.”

While many drivers competing in RallyX have run on similar courses before, few have as much experience at Crandon itself as Henderson. He feels like that familiarity will give him an advantage out of the gate.

“I do think it’ll give me an advantage because I understand the track and the dirt,” he continues. “The dirt in off-road means a lot—how dry it is, what it does as it dries out, where you get holes. I understand that track very well, but then they prep it a little bit different for us to run also, so that may go out the window.”

That said, a double duty weekend isn’t without its challenges. Unlike most of the other drivers who will be managing two short course classes, Henderson will have to switch between two different track layouts and two completely different vehicles when he goes between the FC1 and his Pro 4 truck. Still, he feels well prepared for the challenge of going between the two.

“I’m very serious about physical fitness, so I work out a lot,” he explains. “(And) we run the simulator every day—I might be in Legends, one day it might be NASCAR, it might be Super Late Models. I change it up a lot. So many things over the years, to me, are just getting in the car and once I know how it works, it kind of comes after that.

“We were testing Pro 4s this (spring) in two completely different trucks with different motors, and I ran almost identical laps. So I’ve got experience jumping in different vehicles at different times, and I’ve had a pretty good success doing that. I’m just going to have to remember to take the Joker!”

  • Romet Tsirna Joins #RallyXAmericas Grid for 2026 Season Opener at Crandon

Romet Tsirna Joins #RallyXAmericas Grid for 2026 Season Opener at Crandon

Estonia’s Romet Tsirna will expand his 2026 RallyX program to include the opening round of the Americas championship on June 19-21 at Crandon International Raceway. Tsirna, who has established himself as a front-runner in the First Corner FC2 Supercar with Team OMSE and the support of Pace Motorsport in Europe, will take part in the same class with the team in Crandon.

“Romet has taken to the FC2 very quickly in Europe, and it’ll be exciting to have him with Team OMSE in Crandon,” said Kevin Eriksson, Team OMSE principal. “Coming off a great weekend in Älvsbyn with two podiums, he should be in contention for some more podiums in his American debut as well.”

“I’m really excited to make my debut in RallyX Americas at Crandon,” added Tsirna. “I can’t wait to discover the atmosphere of the Crandon event!”

For five seasons, Tsirna was a consistent presence in RallyX’s Crosscar class in Europe, including two top-five points finishes over the past two years. Highlights from those two seasons include three runner-up finishes in 2024, one at Kouvola and two at Estering, and a breakthrough victory at KymiRing last year.

2026 has marked Tsirna’s first season in an FC2 car in Europe, and his progress so far has been strong. Initially classified as a Pro-Am entry, he took his first win in that division on the first weekend of the season at Valkenswaard, and has since been promoted to full Pro status. He currently sits third in RallyX North FC2 points with four straight podiums across the past two events.

Johnny Holtger Joins #RallyXAmericas Field in One Ethanol FC2 Supercar

Off-road champion Johnny Holtger will make his return to rallycross with RallyX Americas for the 2026 season, driving the One Ethanol First Corner FC2 in the Supercar class. Holtger will make his debut in the season opener at Crandon International Raceway on June 19-21, pulling double duty with his Pro 2 truck in Championship Off-Road for the weekend.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to get back into a rally car, especially the FC2,” said Holtger. “I feel the FC2 fits my driving style perfectly. I’m also excited to race RallyX at Crandon while racing my Pro 2 truck. I grew up racing at Crandon, and if 10 year old me would know I’m racing a rally car there I think little me would be star struck.”

Holtger has excelled across numerous racing disciplines, not only including short course off-road racing but also extending into past rallycross experience and even asphalt late models. Working his way up the short course ranks, he won back-to-back championships in Mod Kart in 2018 and 2019, and he won his debut race in the Pro 2 class in 2022. But he’s been most dominant in a Pro Lite truck, where he won his first championship in 2020 and is currently the defending champion of the class in both Championship Off-Road and the CORR series.

Previously, Holtger made his rallycross debut at ERX Motor Park in 2021, finishing third in his debut race in a Supercar Lites car for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. He also drove the First Corner FC1 in RallyX Americas preseason testing in Orlando this winter prior to joining the FC2 class.

  • iRacing and NASCAR Team Up to Bring Qualcomm Circuit to Life

iRacing and NASCAR Team Up to Bring Qualcomm Circuit to Life

Drive Naval Base Coronado on iRacing before June 19-21’s NASCAR San Diego Weekend presented by Anduril

iRacing and NASCAR are pleased to share that the Qualcomm Circuit, the all-new NASCAR street course built on Naval Base Coronado in California, is officially available as part of iRacing’s new 2026 Season 3 release. iRacers can now license and drive on the new circuit in advance of NASCAR’s real-world debut at the facility on Father’s Day weekend, headlined by the NASCAR Cup Series Anduril 250 Race the Base and supported by both the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

“We’re excited to continue our incredible work with NASCAR to help bring Qualcomm Circuit to life on iRacing before the inaugural NASCAR San Diego Weekend,” said iRacing president Tony Gardner. “Bringing this new layout to life on a military base is one of the most impressive accomplishments yet in our decades-long partnership. We’re looking forward to helping real-world NASCAR stars get ready for the event by giving them access to the track before they get to drive it for real later this month, and we’re excited to see fans’ first reactions to the course as well.”

“iRacing is an incredibly valuable part of how we bring new venues to life,” said NASCAR Chief Operating Officer Ben Kennedy. “Long before the first piece of pavement is laid, we’re able to build, test and experience these tracks in a virtual environment, which helps us refine ideas and see what’s possible. The fact that fans can now drive Qualcomm Circuit on iRacing before we race there in person is a great example of how closely the virtual and real worlds work together at NASCAR.”

Qualcomm Circuit is the latest in a long line of recent partnerships between NASCAR and iRacing to bring tracks to life virtually before the real-world stars race on them. iRacing’s work was instrumental to developing both the quarter-mile oval within the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that was raced in the preseason Clash from 2022 to 2024, and the Chicago Street Course that ran each Fourth of July weekend from 2023 to 2025. iRacing was also a crucial part of the redevelopment of EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta alongside Speedway Motorsports, reconfiguring it into one of NASCAR’s most unique 1.5-mile ovals.

The new circuit, designed by iRacing and NASCAR, features a mix of fast straightaways, sharp corners, and chicanes across its 3.4 miles in length. Drivers will charge across the Ellyson Start/Finish Line into a gradual first turn before hitting their first heavy braking point onto Tow Way in Turn 2, while the back half of the lap features multiple sharp corners, including the challenging Coronado Chicane in Turns 8 and 9.

Qualcomm Circuit adds an exciting new flavor to the rich history of NASCAR racing in Southern California, which has previously spanned everything from superspeedways to short tracks and road courses. NASCAR also brings auto racing back to Coronado for the first time in a decade, as the base had previously hosted smaller vintage racing events.

  • Team OMSE Confirms Kevin and Oliver Eriksson for #RallyXAmericas Hypercar Program

Team OMSE Confirms Kevin and Oliver Eriksson for #RallyXAmericas Hypercar Program

Brothers Kevin and Oliver Eriksson will return to First Corner FC1 Hypercars for Team OMSE during the inaugural RallyX Americas season. After competing extensively in FC2 Supercars in RallyX’s European events to start the season, including this weekend in Älvsbyn, Sweden, the Erikssons will begin their North Americas campaign on June 19-21 at Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin, the same place where they took part in the series’ inaugural demo event last fall.

Kevin Eriksson was the primary development driver for the FC1, scoring his first race win in the car on ice in Calgary in 2023. Eriksson is perhaps best known for viral highlights that include his famous “around the outside” pass in the first corner at Estering in 2016 to take his first career World Rallycross victory, as well as his win in a dramatic head-to-head battle at Glen Helen Raceway in 2021.

“I can’t wait to get back to racing in North America this season with RallyX Americas,” said Kevin Eriksson. “Our demo last year at Crandon showed how much potential rallycross has with the right venues and people behind it. The tracks are going to be awesome and the fields are going to be competitive, so I’m excited for the season ahead!”

Oliver Eriksson has been one of the top drivers in FC1 since the car was introduced in 2022, taking wins on the ice at Trois-Rivières and dirt at Glen Helen in 2023, and adding a victory at Richmond Raceway in 2024. In the car’s last racing season, he was the only driver to place on the podium in all four races. Eriksson’s additional accomplishments include the Global Rallycross Lites title in 2015, two more titles in the car in RX2 in 2018 and 2019, and RallyX’s Open 4WD title in 2020.

“Taking part in the inaugural RallyX Americas season is going to be really exciting,” said Oliver Eriksson. “Some of my best career results have come in North America, and the fans are awesome everywhere we go. I’m looking forward to competing for a championship in the FC1 again and can’t wait to get back to Crandon to get it started!”

The Erikssons will be joined at Team OMSE by Jimmy Henderson, who was confirmed as the team’s first RallyX Americas driver earlier this spring. Henderson is the runaway leader in points in the premier division of Championship Off-Road, Pro 4, through the first four rounds of the season.

It’s a fun, approachable car that will give stock car and road racers the best of both worlds, and we can’t wait to see how the community responds to racing it.”

“Today marks an exciting milestone for the NASCAR Euro Series,” said Jerome Galpin, President/CEO, NASCAR Euro Series. “We are very happy and proud to bring our unique Pure Racing spirit to the world of esports with the launch of the EuroNASCAR V8GP car on iRacing. The V8GP Racecar is a truly special machine: the bridge between NASCAR V8 heritage and European GP racing spirit. Fully engineered to race on road courses, it is the perfect ambassador for the close, spectacular and demanding racing that defines the Official NASCAR European Championship. This partnership opens a new door for fans, sim racers and drivers around the world to experience that unique racing beast firsthand.

The EuroNASCAR V8GP produces 450 horsepower from a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8. It is configured to race on Europe’s premier road courses, including the Brands Hatch Indy circuit and Circuit Zolder, which are on both iRacing and the 2026 NASCAR Euro Series calendar. In 2021, the car cemented a unique place in NASCAR history, becoming the first in the sanctioning body to feature use of a sequential gearbox as an option.

Garrett Lowe, whose success in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series led him to a real-world NASCAR Euro Series drive with BS+ Bremotion, has been involved in the development of the car. Lowe, who finished sixth in PRO division points as a rookie last season with three top-five finishes, provided crucial feedback to the development team to ensure an accurate build.
