American rallycross fans looking to cheer for their favorite drivers once again will finally have their opportunity on March 29-30, as Circuito Internacional de Montalegre plays host to the first RallyX event of the year. As RallyX prepares to host its first American season later this fall, many of the top teams and racers set to compete in that series will cross the Atlantic Ocean for the time being to take on the top talents in the rest of the world.

The list is headlined by global superstar Tanner Foust, who returns to the site of his first major rallycross win in Europe in 2011. Foust will drive the FC2 Star Car for BAK40 Motorsports, which has quickly become one of America’s top homegrown rallycross teams over the past few seasons through the SuperCar Lites platform and now FC2.

The other American name joining Foust on the Montalegre entry list with the BAK40 squad is Lane Vacala. Vacala continues a long-standing association with BAK40, where he won three races in a row to start the 2023-24 Nitrocross season, and returns to RallyX after multiple years away.

Of course, US-based fans will recognize more names on the entry list than just the Americans, especially in other FC2 cars. Jamaica’s Fraser McConnell has been one of North America’s top rising talents for years, taking four Nitrocross wins over the past three seasons; he’ll return to Olsbergs MSE, the team that took him to the top step of the podium in RallyX in previous years. Likewise, defending European Rallycross champion Patrick O’Donovan, who also raced at Nitrocross Las Vegas and in Extreme E with the Jimmie Johnson-owned Legacy Motor Club team last year, secured a last-minute ride with Team Faren as well.

Many of the top Scandinavian drivers to make an impact in America will also be on the grid in Montalegre. Oliver Eriksson went on a tear to start the Nitrocross season last fall in the FC1-X, taking a win at Richmond and podiums in all four races. Meanwhile, SET Promotion’s Tommi Hallman scored two wins and two runner-up finishes in the FC2 in America last fall, and multi-time NEXT champion Casper Jansson of Olsbergs MSE added three podiums of his own in the car.

American fans looking to watch RallyX Euro League action from Montalegre can stream live and free coverage all race weekend long at youtube.com/@RallyXTV. Streams will kick off on Saturday and Sunday mornings ET.
