• Tomy Drissi remains third in Trans Am points heading into the second-to-last race of the year at Barber Motorsports Park
  • Drissi takes an eight-race streak of top five finishes into this weekend’s race
  • Last year, Drissi finished second in each of the final two races of the season

2009 Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi looks to take advantage of Trans Am’s first-ever visit to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend, with hopes of claiming another podium finish as the 2025 season comes down to the wire. The driver of the #8 Trench Shoring Company/Motul/Franklin Road Apparel Chevrolet Camaro will aim to defend his third place in the championship and extend his eight-race top-five streak in Sunday’s 42-lap race.

Last time out at VIRginia International Raceway, Drissi scored his eighth consecutive top five finish, tied with fellow TA competitor Chris Dyson for the longest active streak in any Trans Am division. During the streak, Drissi has scored podiums at Sonoma Raceway in April, Lime Rock Park in May, and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in August. Extending the streak would match his nine consecutive top-five runs to end last season.

While Barber is a new addition to the Trans Am schedule, Drissi is no stranger to raising his game in the final races of the season. Last year, he had back-to-back runner-up finishes in the final two rounds of the campaign—a feat he’ll look to match, or improve on, starting on Sunday.

“Barber looks like an amazing track,” said Drissi. “I’ve never been, and the team didn’t have a chance to test there for this race. But I’ve watched IndyCar race there a lot, and I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube on-boards to get ready. I’m looking forward to fighting for another podium!”

Barber will be a busy weekend for Drissi, with three separate days of on-track sessions. TA cars will have their first practice at 2:40PM CT on Friday, while Saturday will see a second practice at 8AM and qualifying at 11:30AM. Sunday’s race will go green at 9:45AM, with live streaming as always on Speed Sport 1 and Trans Am’s YouTube channel. Click here to buy tickets to watch Tomy race!
