#CORR: Kyle Arkenau Tops Pro SXS Qualifying as CORR Season Resumes at Firebird

Pro SXS title contender Kyle Arkenau threw down the fastest time in qualifying for CORR’s return to Firebird Motorsports Park, turning a 54.200 on Friday afternoon to take the pole. The lap was .303 seconds faster than defending series champion Ryder VanBeekum in second, as drivers look to whittle down Beau Judge’s points lead in Rounds 7 and 8 this weekend.
In fact, VanBeekum qualified second in both top Pro classes, as he ran second to his father Robert in Pro NA as well. Multiple points leaders came out on top of their respective qualifying sessions, including Carson Greco (Pro Am), Jeremy Spears (Pro Production), Johnny Holtger (Pro Lite), and Addie Atteberry (800 Open).
Many classes saw extremely close pole fights that suggest this weekend’s action will be hotly contested. Tanner Wittman’s Pro Am Turbo pole came by just .013 seconds over Michael Burnstein, while Tatum Foerster turned a lap of exactly one minute in Youth Production to beat five-time race winner Kyle Niner by .024 seconds. Austin Dorn only outqualified Chris Leaming in Sportsman by .051 seconds, and Ryder Foerster beat Jaxon Cotter by the exact same margin in Youth Restricted.

#RallyXAmericas Test at zMAX Dragway Makes Waves With Racing Stars

Preparation for the inaugural RallyX Americas season continued Thursday with an additional open test session outside of zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina. From NASCAR Cup Series stars to off-road racers, influencers to micro sprint car drivers and even sim racers, Thursday’s sessions had a little bit of everything.
Following two days of testing at Orlando Speed World in February, Thursday’s session returned the Hypercar, Supercar, and Crosscar classes to action. Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric and NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year and Supercars champion Shane Van Gisbergen dominated the headlines as word spread that they were on hand, and between them, they sampled all three divisions.
“(It) was impressive, the speed that it had and how it accelerated,” Van Gisbergen said about the First Corner FC1 used in the Hypercar class. “I’d never driven an electric car before, and it was just epic. It’s really fun how you can drive them, and I’d love to come back and race against a few of my mates, too.”
“As a teenager, I drove the RX Lites car a ton, and (the FC2) is basically just the same thing with the turbocharger on it,” added Cindric, who sampled both the First Corner FC2 and Speedcar Wonder and has raced the FC1 multiple times. “It was fun to relive some of those days, and it’s definitely cool to see some momentum building again.”
Also on hand Thursday morning was Bristol 1000 winner and YouTube star Brad DeBerti, who was making a return to rallycross himself after running multiple events in 2019. While he’s no stranger to high-horsepower builds, including his 1,600 horsepower twin turbo Ford Raptor R, DeBerti was quite impressed by his time in the Hypercar.
“I just got out of that car—unreal,” said DeBerti. “0 to 60 in 1.6 seconds, and it feels every bit of that in the way it shifts. I had Oliver (Eriksson) in the seat and we were just ripping. I would love to do this full-time one day!”
Mia Chapman and Jim Beaver were among those representing the worlds of off-road truck and UTV racing on Thursday. Coming off an appearance at Red Bull Showrun in Phoenix earlier this month, Chapman turned her first laps in the FC1, while Beaver, who was on the mic for RallyX Americas’ inaugural demonstration race at Crandon International Raceway last summer, took the wheel of both the FC1 and FC2.
“It was an absolute blast, I’ve never driven anything like it before,” Chapman said. “There are a lot of learning curves, but they’re super fast cars. I’m looking forward to getting some more seat time in these.”
“That was so much fun!” added Beaver. “I had to find the limit of the car. I hadn’t been in one of these in 10 years, but it all came back to me. We were flying down the back section!”
As in Orlando, the Crosscar class was represented by multiple brands, with the RallyX Americas debut of the Ligier XC04 alongside Global CrossKart’s Speedcar Wonder and the First Corner FC5. Most test drivers were able to try out multiple cars over the course of the day. Hypercar and Supercar testers were once again coached by Kevin and Oliver Eriksson and Mitchell deJong.
Attention now turns to the start of the RallyX Americas season at Crandon in June, with seats still available in all major classes. Drivers interested in exploring race seats or additional testing opportunities can email chris.leone@rallyx.se for more information.

Track Facts
Firebird Motorsports Park has been the most frequent host of CORR events, including the entirety of last season’s racing and four of this season’s events. The Arizona venue has undergone multiple reconfigurations since it was first built in 2008, with its current layout matching a high-flying frontstretch with a series of tight hairpins.
Racer Spotlight
It’s been a terrific Pro SXS season for points leader Beau Judge, whose breakthrough first win of the season last month at Glen Helen Raceway enabled him to extend his points lead to 34. He was joined on the Round 6 podium by Kyle Arkenau and Bryan McCormick, who finished in that order in the race but are in the opposite order in the standings. Arkenau’s hold on third is tenuous, though, as defending class champion Ryder VanBeekum, Round 1 winner Ryder Chapman, and Jeremiah Wagner are within seven points of him.
VanBeekum and Chapman’s double duty season also sees them running 1-2 in Pro NA points, split by just three after VanBeekum won Round 6 in Glen Helen. Jeremy Spears (Pro Production), Carson Greco (Pro Am), and Michael Burnstein (Pro Am Turbo) complete the Pro class points leaders.
Elsewhere, a handful of other SXS classes are seeing some tight points battles. 170 Production has been home to a thrilling battle between Krayton O’Connor and Greyson Gentry, who are just three points apart, and 170 Limited leader Stetson Wyman has Kaysen Stowell and Zeppelin Ledbetter tied for second just 10 points behind him. Timothy Jones leads the Sportsman field by just 13 points, and Paul O’Brien maintains the same gap over both Scott Webster and Brandon Kilgore in SR1 as all three drivers have won this season.
On the other hand, some drivers have been without comparison so far this season. Mikey Childress boasts a 79-point lead in Youth SXS, just one point larger of a lead than Elliott Brooke’s is in 250 Modified, while Matt Dyer is up by 50 points in Sportsman Turbo, Addie Atteberry’s five-race win streak has her ahead by 32 in 800 Open, and Johnny Holtger has a comfortable 31-point lead in Pro Lite.
However, the Youth set has two points races that could go either way. Ryder Greco’s Youth Restricted advantage sits at 17, while Kyle Niner remains up front by 22 in Youth Production thanks to wins in the first five races and a third-place finish in Round 6. Both drivers are four for four at Firebird so far this season; if they can go six for six, they may make it tough for anyone to catch them going into the finale.

#TransAm: Tomy Drissi Scores First Trans Am Podium of 2026 at Road Atlanta in Dramatic Fashion

- Tomy Drissi gave Drissi Motorsports its first podium of the 2026 Trans Am season with a third-place finish at Road Atlanta on Sunday
- Drissi made the decisive move on Adam Andretti coming into the final corner with just four laps to go
- Simon Gregg added a sixth-place finish in Drissi Motorsports’ second car
2009 Trans Am national champion Tomy Drissi brought the Drissi Motorsports team its first podium of the 60thanniversary season of Trans Am on March 15, scoring third place at Road Atlanta under thrilling circumstances. With just a handful of laps remaining in a race that had already seen both a sprinkling of rain and multiple full-course yellows, Drissi made a dramatic pass on Adam Andretti to secure the final TA class podium spot for the #8 Trench Shoring Company/Motul Chevrolet Camaro.
Drissi qualified fourth with a 1:19.870, earning him two bonus points in the championship, but moved up to the third starting spot thanks to a grid penalty to Martin Ragginger. Just after the halfway point, the second caution of the race would regroup the field and give Drissi Motorsports the chance to return to the podium at Road Atlanta for the sixth time in the past eight years.
Drissi lined up fourth on the restart, just behind Andretti, and haunted him in the closing laps. Finally, with four laps to go, Drissi made his move. He made a line to Andretti’s inside as the drivers charged downhill into Turn 12, stayed to the inside to complete the pass, and shifted into a defensive mode into Turn 1 to make sure it stuck. In the end, Drissi would cross the finish line .382 seconds ahead of Andretti for his first podium of the year.
“First of all, thanks to the whole Drissi Motorsports team,” Drissi said from the podium. “My hat is off to Andretti. For him to go as fast as he was—we just had a great race. That was a great fight that I’ll never forget. I’m glad for the fans to have a good show. Thank you to Trench Shoring, Motul, and Trans Am. Lacy, Jagger, Elin, I’ll be home soon!”
2012 Trans Am national champion Simon Gregg ensured that both Drissi Motorsports Camaros would make it to the finish line. After posting the seventh fastest time in qualifying, Gregg would finish sixth in class, staying on the lead lap and picking up valuable points in the championship chase.
“Thanks to the entire Drissi Motorsports team for the support this weekend,” said Gregg. “We’re continuing to improve every time we hit the track, and we find a little more speed each weekend. I think we’re building a solid foundation and I can’t wait to get back on track next month.”
With Road Atlanta in the books, Drissi Motorsports sets its sights on Sonoma Raceway on April 23-26. Races will take place on Saturday, April 25 at 9:45AM PT and Sunday, April 26 at 10:45AM PT. Tickets remain available, while Racing America will offer free live streaming of both races.

#AORC: Raceline Wheels Returns as Sponsor of 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400

American Off-Road Racing Championship Series officials would like to thank Raceline Wheels for their support of the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 as a sponsor of this year’s Great American Off-Road Race. As in years past, Raceline’s extended support of the event included support of top competitors across numerous classes, especially in this year’s Limited Race, where they scored multiple class wins.
Raceline athletes took top honors in two of the fastest classes in the Limited Race, with Eliott Watson scoring the win in Class 10 and Gage Tuohy in UTV Pro Turbo. Watson’s four-lap finishing time of 7:17:11.297 was good for fifth overall, while Tuohy earned his class victory by just over two minutes with an 8:26:11.611.
Across the UTV Pro Stock and Pro Stock Modified classes, Raceline took five out of the six podium placements. Sara Price and John Meek went 1-2 in the Modified division, with Price’s 8:24:11.115 beating many top entries in faster classes. Antonio De Loera, Sergio Rangel, and Code St. Peter completed a clean sweep of the top three in Pro Stock, with De Loera breaking the nine-hour mark in the process.
In the car and truck classes, Kyle Zirkus took the top spot in Class 1/2 1600, while Larry Negrete Jr. and Ernie Negrete returned to the Mint 400 with second and third place finishes in Class 5-1600 and Cameron Steele and Robin Tulleners earned top fives in Class 1450. Rounding out the Limited Race podiums were a sweep of the Class 11 podium for the Mobelwagen brand with drivers Rene Sanchez, David Sanchez, and Will Drummond. Kelly McNeil put a cap on Raceline’s weekend with a runner-up finish in Unlimited Truck Legends.
“Thanks to Raceline Wheels for once again supporting the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 in 2026,” said Mint 400 CEO Matt Martelli. “They’ve been a great partner to us over the years, and their racers did a tremendous job representing the brand on course this year. Congratulations to all of the Raceline-backed winners in this year’s race, especially Eliott Watson in the hotly contested Class 10 battle!”
The Mint 400 has held the title of the toughest, most spectacular off-road race in North America since 1968 when it was first run. Initially, the race was a public relations event promoting the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt, but what started out as a hotel promotion soon grew into a legitimate desert race. Since its 2008 revival, “The Great American Off-Road Race” has only gotten bigger and more prestigious, and deeper fields every year only make it tougher to win.
Details regarding racer registration, sponsorship packages, exhibitor vending, spectator tickets, camping, and parking passes for the American Off-Road Racing Championship are live on americanoffroadracingchampionship.com

#TransAm: Drissi Motorsports Aims for Trans Am Podium at Road Atlanta This Weekend

- Drissi Motorsports teammates Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg will be back in action this weekend as Trans Am returns to Road Atlanta
- Drissi’s Road Atlanta resume includes four Trans Am podiums in five years from 2019-23 and an IMSA Petit Le Mans victory in 2017
- Gregg’s consistent Trans Am record at Road Atlanta includes 11 top five finishes in 12 races from 2011 to 2020
2009 Trans Am national champion Tomy Drissi and 2012 national champion Simon Gregg are ready to return to action this weekend at Road Atlanta, as Trans Am continues its historic 60th anniversary season at one of the series’ mainstay venues. Both Drissi and Gregg have excelled at the Braselton, GA-based track over their years, and they’ll look to kickstart their chase for the 2026 championship with their sights set on returning to the podium.
Drissi has an extensive record of success at Road Atlanta across multiple series. From 2019 to 2023, he finished on the Trans Am podium four times, including three runner-up finishes in 2019, 2020, and 2022. In IMSA’s season-ending Petit Le Mans, he took a victory in the Prototype Challenge class in 2017 alongside John Falb and Garett Grist, as well as two second place finishes and a third place.
“Road Atlanta has been very special to me over the years,” said Drissi. “I’ve been on the podium here a lot in multiple series, including my Petit Le Mans win, so it’s always one of my favorite tracks to visit. The team has been working hard to find some more speed in both cars, and we think we have a great weekend ahead of us.”
Gregg has his own fond memories of Road Atlanta, having locked up his 2012 Trans Am championship at the track thanks to finishes of second and seventh in a doubleheader event. From 2010 to 2020, that seventh place run marked the only time that Gregg finished outside of the top five in a Trans Am race in Braselton, one of the most consistent performances for a driver at any track in the series.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Road Atlanta,” said Gregg. “The track has always suited me very well, and it’ll always be special to me as the place where I earned the Trans Am title back in 2012. We didn’t have the start to the season that we wanted in Sebring, but I can’t think of anywhere better to bounce back than here.”
Drissi Motorsports’ weekend at Road Atlanta will kick off with a pair of optional test sessions on Friday at 10:05AM and 3:25PM. The TA class will practice and qualify on Saturday at 9:35AM and 3:40PM, respectively, before taking the green flag for 40 laps or 75 minutes of racing on Sunday at 12:10PM. Tickets remain available, while Racing America will offer free live streaming, with coverage starting on Sunday at 11:30AM.
Following Road Atlanta, Drissi Motorsports will turn its attention to Sonoma Raceway on April 23-26 for the first doubleheader of the 2026 season. To keep up with Tomy Drissi, follow @tomydrissi on Instagram and Facebook, and visit www.tomydrissi.com.
