#BACK2BASICS

At #Yes2Motorsport, a key part of what we do is try to keep everyone on the track as much as possible. When you’re running a ton of sessions on any given night, it’s important to be mindful of people’s content in hand, and keep to a predictable list. We’ve been trying to integrate some more niche tracks that have fit some of our race formats, but a good layout is only worth the people that are able to race with us.

So we’re going #BACK2BASICS and trimming the Fair Game track list back down. The tracks that will always be on Fair Game are:

  • All free tracks
  • All legacy tracks
  • All paid tracks with Rallycross layouts (Atlanta, Barcelona, Brands Hatch, Hell, Iowa, Knockhill, Lucas Oil/IRP, Sonoma)
  • All paid tracks with Off-Road layouts (Bark River, Crandon, Wild Horse Pass, Wild West)
  • All paid tracks with Figure 8 layouts (Irwindale)
  • All street circuits (Chicago, Detroit, Long Beach)

Tracks that don’t fit any of the above criteria, but are both popular and multi-use enough to justify sticking around in moderation, include:

  • Auto Club (3 road courses and a high-speed oval)
  • Barber (3 road courses)
  • Daytona (2 generations of scans, oval and road layouts)
  • Hockenheimring (10 layouts)
  • Homestead-Miami (universally beloved, oval and road layouts)
  • Mid-Ohio (multiple road courses, 2 weird ovals)
  • New Hampshire (multiple oval and road layouts)
  • Road Atlanta (universally beloved)
  • Suzuka (4 layouts)
  • Twin Ring Motegi (3 road courses and a high-speed oval)

This is more than enough to do something interesting with just about any combo we ever want to work with, and keep most people in the game for a lot of the night. As an example, here’s an eight-race playlist of just very short road courses and weird ovals where almost every Yes2 member can run just about all night:

  • Oran Park North (free)
  • Tsukuba 1000 Outer (free)
  • Concord (free)
  • Oxford Plains (free)
  • Texas Road Short B (legacy)
  • Knockhill Tri-Oval (rallycross)
  • Mid-Ohio Alt Oval (paid)
  • Barber Short B (paid)

And here’s one of just high-speed ovals geared towards open-wheel cars:

  • Charlotte (free/rallycross)
  • [Legacy] Phoenix (free/rallycross)
  • [Legacy] Kentucky (legacy)
  • [Legacy] Michigan (legacy)
  • [Legacy] Pocono (legacy)
  • Iowa (rallycross)
  • New Hampshire (paid)
  • Motegi (paid)

So, you know. Between all the weird car/track combos we do, we’ve got more than enough to play with on Thursday and Saturday nights keeping it to the above. See you out there!
