RallyX Americas is pleased to introduce the Dennis Reinbold 1 of 1 Award, a unique celebration of the late Dreyer & Reinbold Racing owner who passed away earlier this week. The honor will pay tribute to any driver who is able to win their first RallyX Americas start in any race class, like how Reinbold’s team won its first INDYCAR race in its first start in 2000.

“Dennis Reinbold was truly one of one—a racer and friend unlike any other,” said RallyX founder Andreas Eriksson. “His belief in the people around him was always strong, and he has been a huge supporter of rallycross through all its forms in North America. This award honors not only his spirit and passion for racing, but also one of his team’s greatest accomplishments, winning an INDYCAR race in their first try. We’re excited to give RallyX Americas drivers extra motivation to do the same thing.”

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s historic INDYCAR debut saw the team take the checkered flag against all odds at Walt Disney World Speedway in January 2000. Driver Robbie Buhl came from the 22nd starting spot to secure the victory. That perfect record later extended to the team’s Indianapolis 500 qualifying efforts, where all 53 cars that DRR entered in the race over the past 27 years made the race successfully.

Because Saturday’s RallyX Americas finals at Crandon International Raceway will be the first in series history for the Hypercar and Supercar classes alike, those two race winners will each be guaranteed to receive the award. Following Saturday, the Dennis Reinbold 1 of 1 Award will be a permanent part of RallyX Americas, and any driver making their debut in any class will be eligible to win the award in their first race start.
