Fresh off his debut in the class earlier this summer, Norway’s Thomas Eek Murstad will return to a First Corner FC2 Supercar for the RallyX Americas season finale at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières this weekend. The race will mark Murstad’s third appearance in an FC2 this year, and his first in the Americas championship.
Murstad’s previous FC2 starts have come in the Swedish championship at Höljes in July and as part of a double-duty weekend with his normal Crosscar responsibilities in RallyX action at Nysum earlier this month. The Danish doubleheader proved to be a great success for Murstad, as he scored back-to-back podiums in the Open 4WD Pro-Am finals and added a second place in the premier FC2 final on Sunday.
For the RallyX European season finale at Estering, Murstad returned his focus to Crosscar as he looked to successfully defend his 2025 title and become the first two-time class champion in RallyX history. When all was said and done, he would come just eight points short of the North division title, winning once, taking four podiums, and never finishing worse than seventh all season. However, he would secure the South championship by 14 points thanks to his results at Valkenswaard.
Murstad joins the previously announced Vetle Try and Roberts Vitols as the latest European RallyX mainstay to cross the Atlantic to compete in Trois-Rivières in an FC2 car. Further driver announcements, including a full entry list reveal, will continue to be made leading up to this weekend’s action.
