It’s that time of year again! #Yes2Motorsport’s Virtual Off-Road Team Endurocross (VORTEX) season continues on Thursday, September 24 with the 5th Annual Great Lakes 100 at Bark River International Raceway. ALL ARE WELCOME to compete in this 100-minute, multi-class iRacing team event featuring the Pro 4, Pro 2, Pro 2 Lite, Subaru WRX STI, and VW Beetle Lite.

TEAM RACING INFORMATION

Teams may consist of either 2 or 3 drivers, with “house” team placements available for those who need a teammate.

• Solo Driving: Will be allowed ONLY in the Pro 2 Lite class. Pro 4, Pro 2, Subaru, and Beetle Lite teams must feature either 2 or 3 drivers. Teams may choose to enter Pro 2 Lite as well.
• Unapproved Solo Penalty: A specially approved solo class (Pro 2 Lite) has been made available for this event. The penalty for soloing VORTEX in an unapproved class (Pro 4, Pro 2, Subaru, or Beetle Lite) when a solo class is available is the removal of two scored laps, being moved behind any other drivers on your new scored lap, a one-lap black flag penalty for the offending driver’s team at the start of their next VORTEX appearance, and a five-point penalty (which will cause the offending driver to lose any end-of-season tiebreakers). This penalty is designed to encourage respect for the “team” element of VORTEX for the season-long classes.

This year’s VORTEX season will be carried live on the iRacing social media channels. Be sure to tune into the broadcast on Thursday, September 24 at 9PM ET at twitch.tv/iracing. Broadcasts will be produced by Maconi Entertainment.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

• 9-10PM ET: Recruitment Race (HOSTED: 35 mins open practice, 5 mins open qualifying, 15 mins race)

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

• 7-8PM ET: Open Practice (60 mins, detached session)
• 8:35PM ET: Race session opens/Final Practice (20 mins)
• 8:55PM ET: Qualifying (10 mins)
• 9:05PM ET: 5th Annual VORTEX Great Lakes 100 (100 mins)
