#AORC: Gray Leadbetter Wins EV Open Production Class at 2026 #Mint400

Professional off-road racer Gray Leadbetter can add Mint 400 winner to her resume for the first time, as she took the victory in the EV Open Production class in Friday’s Limited Race in her debut with Chevrolet Performance and Hall Racing. Leadbetter, co-driver Kyle Mitlyng, and the #EV230 Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 completed two laps of a challenging 95-mile course in 8:35:16.484, the longest distance ever run at the Mint 400 by an electric vehicle.

“The Mint 400 was one for the books, that course lives up to the name of being rough and ruthless,” said Leadbetter. “But the goal was to finish and that was what we did. After three tire changes and 8 1/2 hours we made it across the line. Huge thank you to my co driver Kyle for keeping me calm and getting us through the desert and of course Chevrolet and Hall Racing for the opportunity.”

Leadbetter took over the #EV230 from Chad Hall, who won the class in the truck last year but would be focused on his Stock Production Truck Mini/Mid entry for this year. Unlike last year, where the EVs ran a shortened 73-mile course, Leadbetter’s return to desert racing for the first time in a decade would see her back on the same course with all of the other Limited racers.

With her competition falling out of the race quickly, it was up to Leadbetter to put in a measured pace to ensure she got to the finish. In spite of the tire changes, she was able to do just that, adapting from the more urgent pace of short course racing and rallycross she’s run in recent years to make sure the Silverado got onto the finisher’s podium at the end of the night.

Leadbetter’s attention with the #EV230 truck now turns to the Laughlin Desert Classic later this year. Announcements about her additional racing programs for 2026 will be made in the coming months. To replay Hall Racing’s Mint 400 live stream and watch Gray take on the race, click here.

#TransAm: Drissi Motorsports Kicks Off Historic 60th Anniversary Trans Am Season at Sebring
    • Drissi Motorsports teammates Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg kicked off the historic 60th anniversary Trans Am season at Sebring International Raceway
    • Drissi and Gregg comprised the only team to field two past series champions in the TA class
    • The team once again showed podium pace throughout the weekend across multiple sessions

2009 Trans Am national champion Tomy Drissi and 2012 national champion Simon Gregg kicked off the 2026 Trans Am by Pirelli campaign on Sunday with a visit to Sebring International Raceway. The drivers of the #8 and #59 Trench Shoring Company/Motul Chevrolet Camaros joined the field for the opening round of Trans Am’s historic 60th anniversary campaign, where they comprised the only team in the TA class to field two past series champions.

After running top three lap times in both test sessions to start the weekend, Drissi posted the fourth fastest time in practice, which would double as his starting spot after qualifying was cancelled. Gregg, meanwhile, would line up ninth overall and seventh in class in his first visit to Sebring as a Trans Am driver since 2021.

On the start, Gregg unfortunately got caught up in first corner contact, which would end with him pulling off track with suspension damage before finishing a lap and leading to the race’s first yellow. Drissi, meanwhile, would briefly take third off the start before settling back into the top five for much of the race. However, while running some of his fastest laps of the race and closing in on Adam Andretti for position with eight laps to go, Drissi suffered a clutch issue that would force him to retire early.

“The results didn’t show just how competitive we were this weekend,” said Drissi. “It’s disappointing that we couldn’t get back on the podium at Sebring after the pace we had in testing, but sometimes it happens. We’re still thrilled to be part of such a historic season for Trans Am and we look forward to getting back on track at Road Atlanta.”

“It was great to be back on track with the Trans Am field at Sebring,” added Gregg, a Florida native. “I only wish that our race could have lasted a little longer. It’s great that the layoff between Sebring and Road Atlanta won’t be too long, because I’m more than ready to get back on track.”

Following Sebring, Drissi Motorsports will return to action on March 12-15 at Road Atlanta. Drissi has had plenty of success at Road Atlanta, including four podium finishes in a five-year span from 2019 to 2023. Gregg is also no stranger to the podium at Road Atlanta, most recently having taken third place in 2018. Tickets are available now, with the field set to take the green flag for 40 laps or 75 minutes of racing on Sunday, March 15 at 12:10PM ET.

  • #AORC: 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Champions Honored at Awards Ceremony

#AORC: 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Champions Honored at Awards Ceremony

Sunday marked the official conclusion of 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 festivities, as this year’s winner’s trophies were handed out in the official Mint 400 Awards Ceremony. A new slate of custom trophies built by CageWRX were handed out to winners from dozens of classes in the event’s VIP area.

The Mint 400 Awards Ceremony is a party atmosphere with high-quality food and drink that celebrates the race’s champions each year. It also provides winners the opportunity to earn their way into the VIP tent, which features an astounding display of race history each year. From larger-than-life banners of Mint legends to historic vehicles, including actor Larry Wilcox’s Class 8 truck, the VIP area is a glowing tribute to all things off-road racing each year.

Among those on hand to claim his winner’s trophy, plus a $10,000 check from title sponsor BFGoodrich, was Unlimited Race winner Kyle Jergensen. The Camburg/Magnaflow team driver made Mint 400 history on Saturday by claiming the overall win of the Great American Off-Road Race in a SPEC Unlimited Truck, taking down competitors with much more horsepower thanks to consistent driving through the Mint’s characteristically rough course.

But winners of all ages were on hand to take home their hardware, from Unlimited and Limited Race class champions to those who won in the Motorcycle and the Youth Races. This year’s Mint 400 was historic in that it welcomed quad racers among those collecting their trophies for the first time.

“Thank you to everybody who made this year’s BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 such a success, and congratulations to all the winners,” said Mint 400 CEO Matt Martelli. “It’s always awesome to hand out trophies in the VIP area after the race each year, and CageWRX built us an amazing set of them for this year’s winners. We can’t wait to get back here next year and do it all again!”

With the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 in the books, the American Off-Road Racing Championship turns its focus to the Silver State 300, which returns to Tonopah, Nevada on April 22-26. Updated points for AORC classes after the Mint 400 will be available at americanoffroadracingchampionship.com in the coming days.

The Mint 400 has carried the reputation as the toughest, most spectacular off-road race in North America since 1968, when it first roared to life in the Nevada desert. What began as a clever public relations stunt to promote the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt quickly evolved into something far bigger. A legitimate desert race forged in dust, horsepower, and bravado. By the 1970s, the Mint wasn’t just a race. It was a cultural moment. Immortalized by Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, it became a symbol of American excess, grit, and wide-open desert freedom.

After decades of dormancy, the event was revived in 2008 by brothers Matthew and Joshua Martelli, who rebuilt it from the ground up with a singular mission. To restore its mythic status while elevating the professionalism, safety, and prestige of modern desert racing. Since that revival, “The Great American Off-Road Race” has only grown larger, deeper, and more competitive. The fields get stronger every year. The stakes get higher. And winning The Mint 400 remains one of the hardest achievements in off-road racing.

This year’s Mint 400 will take place from March 4th – 8th in Las Vegas. More information on the event for racers and spectators is available at TheMint400.com, or follow the event on Facebook and Instagram.

  • #AORC: 2026 #Mint400 Youth Races Produce Fleet of New Winners

#AORC: 2026 #Mint400 Youth Races Produce Fleet of New Winners

Off-road racing is one of the world’s most accessible forms of motorsport for young drivers, and each year the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 proves the point by welcoming dozens of aspiring UTV racers for a full weekend of action. With many of this year’s top Unlimited and Limited Race competitors having gotten their start here, a win in the “mini” Mint 400 is often the first of many for the sport’s future stars.

The Youth divisions got started on Friday morning with the 570 and 1000 class races. The 570s featured a totally new field from last year, with Jack Gillaspy moving up to take the victory after competing in only the 200 class last year. The 1000 race saw an all-new podium of its own after Landon Morrow, who finished one spot off it last year, earned the win by just over 40 seconds over Cameron Leaming. Last year’s Youth 170 Open winner, Korbin Grinolds, completed the 1000 podium.

Saturday’s action kicked off with the 200 and 170 Production classes competing in the morning’s first race. Gillaspy, returning to the 200 class, made it two wins in as many races, but overall top honors went to 170 Production winner Roxen Brooks. Dylan Llamosas and Tanner Sprinkle completed a podium that was split by just 54.566 seconds, as the entire top five finished within a minute of one another.

The final race of the weekend for the Youth classes combined the 250 and 170 Open divisions. After finishing second in 170 Open in this race last year, Paxton Grinolds moved up to 250 to take the overall win by 11.337 seconds over Kyson Christensen, as the duo were the only two drivers to complete 10 laps of the course. Zeppelin Ledbetter, Knoxx Salvatore, and Wyatt Mayfield comprised the remainder of the top five overall, as well as the full 170 Open podium.

2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Youth Race winners were as follows:

    • Youth 1000: #Y1088 Landon Morrow, 6 laps, 46:39.921
    • Youth 570: #Y502 Jack Gillaspy, 3 laps, 27:51.194 Jim
    • Youth 250: #Y228 Paxton Grinolds, 10 laps, 25:26.351
    • Youth 200: #L279 Jack Gillaspy, 8 laps, 27:29.981
    • Youth 170 Open: #YO74 Zeppelin Ledbetter, 9 laps, 25:53.388
    • Youth 170 Production: #Y77 Roxen Brooks, 9 laps, 26:31.324

  • #AORC: Ciaran Naran, Lyndon Snodgrass Win 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Motorcycle Race

#AORC: Ciaran Naran, Lyndon Snodgrass Win 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Motorcycle Race

The #N2 team of Ciaran Naran and Lyndon Snodgrass mounted a strong late-race charge to score the victory in the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Motorcycle Race on Saturday, haunting top qualifier Dalton Shirey through the first two-thirds of the race before claiming the lead before the final lap and never looking back. Their finishing time of 7:44:26.254 denied Shirey back-to-back Mint 400 victories, while also backing up his second-place run in the American Off-Road Racing Championship season-opening Parker 400 in January.

“I’m super ecstatic,” Naran said from the podium. “First time at the Mint 400, first time on a Ducati. We had a great race and charged hard, but couldn’t have done it without my teammate Lyndon Snodgrass. I’m just super stoked to be standing here.”

“It was a really good day,” Snodgrass added. “Ciaran did the first three laps and had us in a really good position. I jumped on the bike and put my head down and went as hard as I could. I was able to make a few passes and get us into the lead, and it was a really good first time here.”

This year’s Mint 400 Motorcycle Race made history by welcoming quads for the first time, part of the combined efforts between UNLTD Off-Road Racing and Best in the Desert to create a unified AORC. That led to an entry list of 160 racers this year, 60 more than last year’s Mint 400 Motorcycle Race, and a major part of the race’s expansion to 550 total entries in 2026.

Atop that entry list was perhaps the deepest Open Pro Motorcycle class in recent memory. They set a blistering pace from the green flag, and the riders were on top of one another’s times all day long. In contrast to past Mint 400s where other classes have cracked the top five, the Pros had a stranglehold on the top spots throughout the race. While Shirey, Naran, and Parker 400 winner Shane Logan ran in that order for much of the day, they were still separated by under two minutes through four of six laps.

It was the fifth lap that proved consequential, as the entire podium order changed hands. Snodgrass would finally find his way into the lead, while Logan would suffer setbacks that would drop him to the back of the Open Pro running order. That opened the door for 2024 winner Preston Campbell and Nolan Cate to crack the top three, and they’d back that up by sneaking past Shirey on the final lap to score Campbell’s second straight runner-up finish.

When all was said and done, Open Pro racers claimed the top six spots and seven of the top 10. Open Expert winner Caleb Tate was the highest finisher from another class, coming in seventh overall with an 8:46:56.886. Top finishing honors in Quad Pro went to Roberto Villalobos, who completed five laps of the course in 7:49:58.035.

Top finishers from the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Motorcycle Race were as follows:

    1. #N2 Ciaran Naran, Open Pro Motorcycle, 7:44:26.254
    2. #N3 Preston Campbell, Open Pro Motorcycle, 7:51:15.712
    3. #N46 Dalton Shirey, Open Pro Motorcycle, 7:53:26.800
    4. #N15 Nic Colangeli, Open Pro Motorcycle, 8:06:16.944
    5. #N13 Caiden Fenstermaker, Open Pro Motorcycle, 8:36:27.174
    6. #N18 Matthew Grant, Open Pro Motorcycle, 8:37:27.348
    7. #312 Caleb Tate, Open Expert Motorcycle, 8:46:56.885
    8. #N1 Shane Logan, Open Pro Motorcycle, 9:02:22.049
    9. #N7 Danny Cooper, Open Pro Motorcycle, 9:04:33.265
    10. #315 Logan Freeman, Open Expert Motorcycle, 9:11:16.392

  • #AORC: Kyle Jergensen Wins 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Unlimited Race

#AORC: Kyle Jergensen Wins 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Unlimited Race

For the first time in four years, Kyle Jergensen is an overall champion of the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400, completing four laps of this year’s grueling course in a rapid 6:47:23.597. After taking the lead from two-time defending race winner Adam Householder on the final lap, Jergensen and the #222 The Beast/Camburg/Magnaflow team put their Unlimited Truck SPEC entry on top of the box, giving their class an upset overall win while competing against other teams with twice the horsepower.

“Our gameplan was to let them make mistakes, and they all made mistakes,” said Jergensen. “We made no mistakes—no flats, no nothing, the truck was perfect, the team was perfect. That’s what won us the Mint today, no mistakes. We actually had a surprising amount of dust behind Arciero for a couple laps. Arciero is fast enough that we can’t pass him. We have half the horsepower and half the top speed, so we’d do what we could in the tight stuff.”

Brett Sourapas, Tracy Graf, and Householder were the first three trucks off the line after qualifying up front on Friday, and they held the top three overall spots through the first lap. As the field hit the first timing loop on Lap 2, Graf and Householder were scored ahead of Sourapas, although the trio were still separated by under a minute. Householder would take the overall lead through the second loop as Arciero and Jergensen jumped past the 4WD trucks for second and third, even though Sourapas and Graf would still hold physical second and third at halfway.

But Jergensen would pick up the charge on the third lap to become the biggest challenger to Householder’s winning streak. He’d slice three minutes off the gap to get it down to 46 seconds at the first pit on Lap 3, and shave it further to just eight seconds at the second loop. After a slightly longer pit stop for Jergensen at the end of the lap, the 2022 overall winner would trail the 2024 and 2025 winner by just over a minute going into the final circuit.

It wouldn’t take much longer for the door to open for Jergensen, as Householder needed to make a tire change just a few miles into Lap 4. 20 minutes later came the break that changed the race, as Householder’s lower A-arm failed. Joining him on the sidelines on the “heartbreak lap” were SPEC truck standouts Stephen Beal, who has been in contention for the overall podium, Dustin Grabowski, and defending SPEC class winner Conner McMullen.

As Jergensen had already put himself in the lead both physically and on time, he hung on to secure the victory by more than four minutes apiece over Sourapas and Arciero. By the end of the race, the front-runners were managing not only their equipment, but also an unforgiving course that only got rougher as the day went on.

“I feel like every single year we race here we say it was rougher than the previous year, but this was no joke,” said Sourapas, the top finisher in Unlimited Truck 4WD. “Lap 4, you can’t even get on top of anything. When we finished the opening ceremony, my paddle shifter wasn’t working, I could only downshift. My right-hand man Evan (Weller, co-driver) was shifting up for me the entire race, so he had his hands full. We got four well-deserved flats, it was super rocky out there, but all in all we’re happy to be here.”

For Arciero, whose heart has been broken many times by the Mint in recent years, today served as partial redemption. While he didn’t win the race overall, he was the top driver in the Unlimited 2WD class—and he admits that he at least considers winning his class at the Mint a “box half-checked.”

“Today went fairly good,” he said. “I lost third gear, our high gear, so the third and fourth lap, the fastest I could go was like 90, 95 miles an hour. We had no top speed and we were just hoping for attrition at that point. I know the Mint has it, and when we saw Adam pulled over on the side of the road, I knew we had it. But I knew we had to catch and pass Kyle since we started side by side, and that was going to be a tall feat.”

Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson made his return to the desert for the first time in more than 30 years, teaming up with Troy Herbst as part of a multi-truck effort for Terrible Herbst Motorsports. While Johnson started near the rear due to a rollover in Friday’s qualifying, he finished the first two laps of the race without major incident before handing the truck over to Troy Herbst, who brought it home sixth in class and 12th overall with a 7:31:34.479.

TTop finishers from the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Unlimited Race were as follows:

  • #AORC: Brock Heger Scores Second Straight O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Race Win at 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400

#AORC: Brock Heger Scores Second Straight O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Race Win at 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400

For the second year in a row, Brock Heger bested a deep field of more than 240 desert racers in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Race at the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400. The UTV Pro and overall race winner didn’t just double up on his win, though—he also became the first UTV racer to complete the race in under seven hours, crossing the finish line in an unofficial 6:57:56.4.

“Overall, we had a lot of fun,” Heger said from the finish. “We just did what we needed to do and wanted to do. The pace we ran was what we wanted, and we were just going to see where we ended up at the end of it. It was a little bumpy at the beginning—we had a few little issues that we got addressed—and then me and Justin (Wilson, co-driver) put our heads down and we just charged.”

Those “little issues” at the beginning came within the race’s first mile. Heger would leave the start line first after qualifying fastest yesterday, but just moments into his run, his spare tire came loose and flew off the rear of the car. With so many variables ahead, and so many competitive UTV Pro teams, it looked like the kind of moment that could either make or break a race.

Not so. Third-place qualifier Corbin Leaverton would take the lead in the pits as Heger’s crew worked to secure a new spare on the car, but Heger would claw back the time lost and make a thrilling on-track pass.

That wouldn’t be it for the challenges up front early on. Cody Bradbury would tear his way through the field to grab the lead on corrected time through the first checkpoint on lap two, and the top 15 would be separated by just five minutes at that point. It was only then that some of the front-runners began falling off. Bradbury, Leaverton, second-place qualifier Kyle Chaney, and Branden Sims all fell out on the second lap, while Michael McFayden’s top-five pace would come to an end just after halfway.

But even as Heger settled into the lead and built up a gap with a solid, consistent pace, the fight for the remaining podium spots was far from done. Mitch Guthrie and Joe Terrana, two former Mint 400 Limited Race winners, settled into second and third late, but Terrana would suffer a heartbreaking issue just a few miles from the finish. That opened the spot up for Phil Blurton, who won the Parker 400 just two months ago to kick off the American Off-Road Racing Championship season.

The fight to the finish wasn’t reserved just for the UTV Pro racers, though. Class 10 drivers Brody Atkins and Eliott Watson started second and third in class and almost crossed the line together. In the end, Watson would take the victory by an unofficial margin of just two seconds, as the duo finished the race fifth and sixth overall. Additional four-lap class winners included Major Deitch in UTV Pro Turbo, Brad Wilson in Class 12, and Sara Price in UTV Pro Stock Modified.

“The field was stacked, everybody was so tight in qualifying,” said Watson. “We put our heads down and realized it’s a long race, there are a lot of rocks and a lot of reasons to take you out early. Edgar (Sotelo, co-driver) and I just played it patient out front. We had an issue in the pits that put us nearly 10 minutes back, but we hammered down the last little bit of the race and we made up a lot of ground. This car has probably never been driven that hard, and it probably will never want to be again!”

#AORC: Brett Sourapas Tops Qualifying for 2026 BFGoodrich Tires #Mint400 Unlimited Race

Brett Sourapas’ return to the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Unlimited Race will see him take the green flag first on Saturday. Thanks to a time of 6:06.643 in Friday’s qualifying session, the driver of the #88 Unlimited Truck 4WD has earned the right to start the 2026 edition of the Great American Off-Road Race without opposition.

Two-time defending Unlimited Race winner Adam Householder kicked things off for the 2WD trucks and laid down a 6:14.520 that would withstand challenges from regular top qualifiers like Nic Whetstone and Ryan Arciero, but Justin “Bean” Smith, qualifying for Tracy Graf, would put a 4WD truck on the top spot with a 6:08.881. That advantage would hold until the final few entries in the first group, when Sourapas would best him by just under two seconds.

Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson’s return to the desert got off to a wild start on Friday, as he rolled the truck on the final corner before the finish line. However, he wasn’t the only one whose qualifying run didn’t go as planned; Parker 400 winner Robby Gordon wasn’t able to post a time after one of the engines in his dual-engine 4WD truck needed work, while former Unlimited Race winner Eric Hardin walked away from a spectacular rollover that cut his run short.

For Unlimited Truck SPEC, which qualified on its own after the other Unlimited classes wrapped, Kyle Jergensen’s 6:28.225 set an immediate benchmark that would hold for the entire session. Conner McMullen, last year’s SPEC class winner and top qualifier, came closest, as the only driver to post a time within five seconds of Jergensen.

Joining the Unlimited Race entries in qualifying were the Open Pro Motorcycle racers who will head up tomorrow’s Motorcycle Race. Defending race winner Dalton Shirey topped the field with a 5:53.764, followed closely by Shane Logan and 2024 Motorcycle Race winner Preston Campbell.

Qualifying results for the 2026 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Unlimited and Motorcycle Races were as follows:

    Unlimited Race Group 1

    5.        #100 Dale Dondel, Unlimited Truck 2WD, 6:23.651

    6.        #32 Ryan Arciero, Unlimited Truck 2WD, 6:23.705

    9.        #78 Tracy Poole, Unlimited Truck 2WD, 6:31.899

    10.  #27T Steve Olliges, Unlimited Truck 2WD, 6:36.069

Unlimited Race Group 2 (Unlimited Truck SPEC)
