  • Tomy Drissi Claims Third Podium of 2026 as #TransAm Returns to Lime Rock

Tomy Drissi Claims Third Podium of 2026 as #TransAm Returns to Lime Rock
    • Tomy Drissi finished second in the TA class in Saturday’s Trans Am race from Lime Rock Park
    • The podium was Drissi Motorsports’ fourth in a row in the 2026 season, and Drissi’s second in a row at Lime Rock
    • Drissi remains third in the TA championship through five rounds

2009 Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi and the #8 Trench Shoring Company/Motul Chevrolet Camaro finished second in the premier TA class in Saturday’s Memorial Day Classic from Lime Rock Park. The podium was his third of the 2026 season and the fourth in a row for Drissi Motorsports, enabling Drissi to maintain third place in the TA championship standings.

After switching to the team’s second car due to an off-track excursion in Thursday testing, Drissi qualified fifth on Friday afternoon. With the rain coming in for Saturday’s 75-minute race, his focus would turn towards managing the difficult conditions and minimizing issues. While the leaders would spend most of the first half dueling for position, Drissi focused on logging consistent laps, recovering cleanly from two off-track issues, and building on good luck in those recoveries to take advantage of any opportunities that arose ahead of him.

Just around halfway, things started breaking Drissi’s way. First, a mechanical issue for Matthew Brabham and an incident for Chris Dyson would move Drissi up into a podium position. Then, with under 10 laps to go, second place David Pintaric would have an incident of his own, allowing Drissi to swap spots with him.

When the checkered flag fell, Drissi would cross the line second in class behind Paul Menard, his third podium at the track in the past six years and second in a row. On a weekend where the racing world was mourning the loss of the legendary Kyle Busch, it was only fitting that Drissi could bring a black and gold #8 Camaro—similar to the cars that Busch raced in the NASCAR Cup Series—onto the podium.

“First of all, Lime Rock Park and the fans, that you all for coming out,” Drissi said from the podium. “I was praying for rain, because we’re usually really good in the rain, but we couldn’t put the setup on that was magic, when we were on the pole in the rain a couple of years ago. Sometimes it’s like being in ‘The Tortoise and The Hare’—I don’t like being the tortoise, but look where it got us. Congratulations to Menard on the win.”

It’s that time of year again! #Yes2Motorsport’s Virtual Off-Road Team Endurocross (VORTEX) season continues on Thursday, June 11 with the Inaugural #Yes2 Hours of Crandon at Crandon International Raceway. ALL ARE WELCOME to compete in this exciting, multi-class iRacing off-road team event.

    UNIQUE TO THIS EVENT

The Inaugural #Yes2 Hours of Crandon will feature a number of unique changes from the typical VORTEX format to differentiate it from other events.

    • Race Length: 120 minutes (2 hours), up from the normal 100 minutes.
    • Vehicle Classes: Pro 2 Lite will join the Pro 4, Pro 2, Subaru WRX STI, and VW Beetle Lite.
    • Solo Driving: Will be allowed ONLY in the Pro 2 Lite class. Pro 4, Pro 2, Subaru, and Beetle Lite teams must feature either 2 or 3 drivers. Teams may choose to enter Pro 2 Lite as well.
    • Unapproved Solo Penalty: A specially approved solo class (Pro 2 Lite) has been made available for this event. The penalty for soloing VORTEX in an unapproved class (Pro 4, Pro 2, Subaru, or Beetle Lite) when a solo class is available is the removal of two scored laps, being moved behind any other drivers on your new scored lap, a one-lap black flag penalty for the offending driver’s team at the start of their next VORTEX appearance, and a five-point penalty (which will cause the offending driver to lose any end-of-season tiebreakers). This penalty is designed to encourage respect for the “team” element of VORTEX for the season-long classes.

Drissi Motorsports Aims to Extend #TransAm Podium Streak at Lime Rock Park
    • Drissi Motorsports carries a three-race team podium streak into this Saturday’s Trans Am round at Lime Rock Park
    • 2009 series champion Tomy Drissi sits third in points with podiums at Road Atlanta and Sonoma I
    • Drissi’s most recent podium at Lime Rock came last year, when he finished third

2009 Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi leads Drissi Motorsports into this weekend’s Trans Am event at Lime Rock Park looking to extend the team’s active podium streak to four consecutive races on Saturday. Drissi enters the event with his #8 Trench Shoring Company/Motul Chevrolet Camaro third in TA class points coming into the traditional Memorial Day weekend visit to Connecticut.

After Drissi took a pair of third place finishes in the #8 Trench Shoring Company/Motul Chevrolet Camaro at Road Atlanta in March and the first leg of the Sonoma Raceway doubleheader last month, 2012 series champion Simon Gregg extended the streak with a third place run of his own in the #59 Chevrolet Camaro in the second Sonoma race. As a result, Drissi Motorsports is the only team so far this Trans Am season to have scored podiums with more than one driver in the TA class.

Drissi’s first Trans Am podium at Lime Rock came in 2010, a runner-up finish that served as his third podium of that season. He has since added a second place finish in 2021 and a third place finish last year, the latter of which came after an intense battle with Amy Ruman off the race’s only restart. Drissi and Kyle Marcelli also teamed up to score an LMPC podium here in past IMSA action.

“I’m looking forward to another great weekend of Trans Am racing at Lime Rock,” said Drissi. “Last year, we overcame a lot of challenges to get onto the podium here, and with all of the podiums we’ve taken as a team recently, I think we have a great shot at getting back up there this weekend. The fans at Lime Rock are always awesome and I’m looking forward to their support again!”

Drissi Motorsports’ first opportunity to get on track comes on Thursday, with optional test sessions at 11:25AM and 3:50PM. Practice will take place on 10:45AM on Friday, followed by qualifying at 3:40PM. Drissi will also be signing autographs at the Country Carpenters Beer Pavilion on Friday at 1PM. Saturday’s race is scheduled for 68 laps or 75 minutes and will go green at 11:40AM. Tickets remain available, with free live streaming available as always via Racing America.

Jim Beaver eSports is pleased to announce the return of Kollin Keister and Nate Stewart to its Ford Mustangs for the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series. Keister will return to the #15 car with new sponsorship from Kicker, while Stewart will return to the #5 car with Misadventure Life Apparel branding.

Keister clinched his eligibility to return to the Championship Series with a playoff berth last year, winning at Las Vegas in the spring in one of JBeS’ first races since returning to the series and finishing 10th in final points. Stewart retained his series eligibility after finishing 15th in the Qualifying Series standings, scoring four top-five finishes across 11 rounds split between NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Cup Series machines.

Last year, JBeS won its second eNASCAR Paint of the Year award as chosen by iRacing for Stewart’s “Traveler” scheme, as run in the early stages of the season. To celebrate, the team will not only return Traveler to the track for May 19’s season opener at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but also its 2022 award winner, the Travis Pastrana throwback paint that was run at Darlington Raceway that season by Blake Reynolds.

“One of the things we’re proudest of at Jim Beaver eSports is that drivers want to stick with us for our culture,” said team owner Jim Beaver. “Working with Kollin and Nate last year really put the fun into eNASCAR for us. We went into the season focused on having a good time, and getting back to the winner’s circle was a bonus. We’re thrilled to have both of them back in our cars for 2026, and we expect another fun year ahead!”

$15 for two-day tickets; children 13 and under free
Race dates shift to Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27

Tickets for RallyX Americas’ historic inaugural visit to Eldora Speedway will go on sale on Friday, May 8 at 10AM ET. Priced at just $10 per race day or $15 for two days for adults, and with free attendance for children ages 13 and under, RallyX Americas at Eldora will be one of the most affordable rallycross events in the sport’s history in the United States.

As part of the effort to make RallyX Americas at Eldora more approachable and family-friendly, the racing will shift to Friday and Saturday night, June 26-27. While the race weekend itself stays the same, the shift to earlier days brings RallyX Americas more in line with many of Eldora’s other top events.

Preparation for the event is well underway, with RallyX Americas cars on hand last weekend for demonstration runs at Eldora’s Family Fireworks Night and pre-event testing. RallyX founder Andreas Eriksson got behind the wheel of one of BAK40 Motorsports’ First Corner FC2 Supercars to wow the crowd with drifting and donuts on Saturday night, while Hypercar and Crosscar machines joined the Supercar on Sunday for track layout testing. The course layout will feature much of Eldora’s famed half-mile clay oval, with an infield start zone that will launch cars into Turn 1 and a path through the track’s infield that includes a jump.

The Eldora event will serve as Rounds 3 and 4 of the inaugural RallyX Americas campaign, and will come on the heels of the series’ debut at Crandon International Raceway as part of the Brush Run Speed Festival one week prior. Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières will complete the points racing calendar on August 22-23, while an exhibition as part of Crandon’s World Championship weekend on September 5-6 and the RallyX World Final at Montalegre Circuit in Portugal on October 24-25 will complete the calendar.

  • Drissi Motorsports Claims Two Podiums in #TransAm Sonoma Doubleheader

Drissi Motorsports Claims Two Podiums in #TransAm Sonoma Doubleheader
    • Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg each scored a podium finish in Trans Am doubleheader action from Sonoma Raceway
    • Drissi’s third place finish on Saturday was his second podium of the season and second in two years at Sonoma
    • Gregg earned his first podium since returning to Trans Am with a third place on Sunday

Drissi Motorsports drivers and former Trans Am national and Western champions Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg each took a turn on the podium as Trans Am by Pirelli visited Sonoma Raceway for its first doubleheader of the 2026 season. Drissi and the #8 Trench Shoring Company/Petersen Automotive Museum/Motul Chevrolet Camaro took third place in Saturday’s Round 3, while Gregg and the #59 Chevrolet Camaro replicated the feat in Sunday’s Round 4.

Drissi’s path to the podium on Saturday was an exciting one. He spent the first half of the race trying to get around David Pintaric for third, before they made contact on Lap 20. Both were able to continue with Drissi taking third. A hard-charging Paul Menard, recovering from an unscheduled pit stop, would catch back up to pass Drissi a few laps later, but second place Rafa Matos would pull off with a mechanical failure just moments later to return Drissi to the podium for the second time this year.

“It’s great to be here and look at the fans and support from everybody,” Drissi said from the podium on Saturday. “The team did such a good job, this is a team podium because it was about consistency and reliability. Thanks to Trench Shoring, they’re in California, Motul, and the Petersen Automotive Museum—if you’re ever in LA, they’re at Fairfax and Wilshire, one of the best museums you can go to. (And to) Pintaric, I’m sorry, we were racing hard. He’s the nicest guy in the paddock, so apologies for getting into you.”

The second race of the weekend was Gregg’s turn to bring home the hardware. Managing his Camaro through the rigors of a doubleheader, the 2012 series champion improved upon his season-best fifth place finish on Saturday to claim third place on Sunday. It was Gregg’s first podium in the TA class since June 2021 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and it came in just his fifth start since returning to the series as Drissi’s teammate.

“It’s been a fun weekend,” said Gregg. “Yesterday was a great race, and today it was such a surprise to get in the top three. I appreciate Trench Shoring and Drissi Motorsports, the crew has been wonderful. I’ve been with them about half a season now, and I look forward to the future!”

Thanks to their results this weekend, both Drissi and Gregg now find themselves in the top five in the TA championship. Drissi has a 14-point edge on David Pintaric for third place in the standings, while Gregg sits just six points behind Pintaric in fifth.
